UMCOR

If you are reading this blog from afar (or close), and would like to help out with the tornado recovery efforts, please consider UMCOR.  (United Methodist Committee On Relief)

ONE HUNDRED PERCENT (yes, 100%!) of your contributions will go directly to aid the recovery efforts.  ZERO percent will go to administrative costs.  UMCOR's administrative costs are covered by the regular yearly budget of the United Methodist Churches.

Please visit UMCOR's website for more information.

  1. Awesome!! Thank you for that information. Not many organizations can say they use 100 pct of contributions go to victims!
Outpouring of help has been amazing for our town, but we cannot forget the smaller towns either!! Just heard on the news that Tide laundry will bring "loads of hope" here today until May 12, at University Mall to set up a mobile area where folks can bring laundry and have it washed free of charge, as well as a Duracell battery charging station from 8am to 8 pm.
Also, please Continue to pray for all victims, but don't forget the relief workers, the law enforcement, firefighters and emergency personnel, and the utility workers!! Let me say, they are doing an amazing job in horrendous conditions. On a more personal, sad note--pictures cannot do this justice. It was bad enough seeing it a half block away overlooking the area. Up close, at eye level...no words to describe it to you!! It makes you so sad to see so much of your city just gone. All you can do is cry and move on to help the victims. It is truly a miracle that we didn't have thousands killed in this highly populated, and large shopping area of town.
