Dentist

She wanted one of her laying on the bench (even though she did not have to lay down for anything, she tried it out just the same).

 

On the way home, telling PawPaw all about it.

 

 

She actually looks forward to going to the dentist.  Although that may change if she ever has to have anything done other than a simple cleaning!

New Blog!!

The past couple of weeks my "sewy" posts have taken over my personal blog.  So, in order to make it easier for my followers, I have started a new blog for my sewy stuff.  

In fact, I've named it .... SEWY STUFF!

If you are following me to keep up with my newfound (or re-kindled as it were) love of sewing please come on over to Sewy Stuff and follow along.  

I'm excited!  I hope you are too!

Scrap Bib ...

Went into a (small) box of scrap fabrics and found just enough of this flag pattern left from a shirt I made my son, to make a bib.  I used a terry washcloth for the back.

 

 

The washcloth wasn't quite long enough (barely wide enough), so I pieced the neck with a little of the flag fabric.

Several of my readers have told me they are having trouble leaving comments.  I have made some adjustments in the settings (removed the captcha for now) .... in the hopes that it will correct the problem.

I *think* most of the problems are experienced by those who do not use blogger.

He Sews So Good!

 

First project with the Other Brother.

Bags And Stuff ...

Or maybe I should call it "stuffed bags".  

Finished my project for Sadie's shower.  Of course there will be many (many) more projects for Sadie (and Gabbie) but this will be the Shower Ensemble.  

Sadie's bag and all the goodies .... changing pad, burp cloths, and boots.

They've been blessed to have most of their needs met by a friend who has passed along car seat, bouncy seat, bathtub, swing, and oodles and oodles of little girl clothes ... 

but of course she need her very own special Grandma shirt!

And her very first Nashville shirt!

Though merely a cousin (once or twice removed, whatever that means), Gabbie will be playing the part of big sister, and she will need a few things at the shower as well. 

Bag, burp cloth and her very own purple boots (even though they look kinda black in this picture, they are bright purple). 

As DIL said last week ... we don't want Sadie to come early, but we sure do want July 20 to get here FAST!!

Happy Mother's Day ... To Me!

Tonight I unboxed the new machine. 

While Gabbie and I were out and about yesterday we stopped by Walmart and I picked up a cutting board, ruler, and a rotary cutter.

When I checked out at Walmart and realized how much I'd spent, plus the new machine, I thought maybe I had over-indulged a bit; but then I remembered it was a lot less expensive and more practical than the Mother's Day I bought myself a motor cycle!! 

Maybe tomorrow evening I can put the machine together and see how he sews (yes, he; he is after all a Brother!) 

I also picked up a little more fabric. I'll show you that when I get started on the new project. 

But first, I have to show you the project I just finished. 

After I take pictures of it.

An awning for my door from BoyChild (because I've only been asking for one for a couple of years)

BabyGurl and SIL did some yardwork for me ... and got me a bracelet/watch.

And of course dear sweet DIL is taking good care of our Sadie for us!!

My Other Brother

This arrived 45 years ago.

This is my original brother.

He still shows his butt now and again.  ;-)

This arrived today.

This is my new brother.

I haven't completely unpacked it yet (in fact I haven't unpacked it at all - just opened the box and peeked in).  I will have the Gabster most of this weekend so unpacking and using it will not happen til at least late Sunday - more likely Monday.

I did however unpack this.

I can read it while Gabbie is watching Dora.

I will not however be needing this!!

All In A Day's Work ...

Though it did take most of the day, including an unreasonably long time on re-making the handle more than once.

Miss Sadie will be having shower in four weeks and I'm going to make her a bag and some burp cloths, so I made Gabbie a bag as well.  I'm basically treating Gabbie like the 'big sister' and including her in everything.  After all, she has been everybody's only baby for 4 1/2 years!!

This is her bag - and of course a burp cloth for her baby dolls.

Since she is all about shoes, I thought she would really like this fabric. 

 

I'm still working on Sadie's bag.  It's a bit bigger and is taking longer because I am doing a little more quilting on it. And I'm still deciding on how to do the handles.  I now have a phobia about handles.

Swangin'

Sweet Thang got a new swingset this week. 

 

She is in swingset heaven.



 

She wanted to let BoyChild know that as soon as Sadie is born, she can swing on it too, so we made this little video and text'd it to him.

 

 

Buggy Chasin' ...

My momma would have my hide if she knew I was showing this to anybody other than immediate family (being as how she's in her housecoat and all) but this is what keeps my daddy going ... literally! 

 

I was getting ready to leave their house the other night when Missy Prissy came out of her room with her grocery buggy and proceeded to get after her PawPaw.  I missed the first couple of laps trying to get my phone out of my pocket! 

Flowers!

Gabbie and I planted one pot of petunias yesterday. 

 

She helped put the dirt in the pot.

And one of my co-workers brings huge buckets flowers from her yard all spring / summer long for us to share and put on our desks.
