Getting Ready For Baby ...
Found this at our local thrift store yesterday.
I texted the pic to BoyChild and DIL and told them she can go ahead and have the baby now, I am ready. However, Baby wont be ready for almost six more months! How am I ever going to wait that long?
The bassinet is in good shape and is sturdy. The cover/drape/whatever is a little musty and yellow. I am going to give it a good washing and see what happens. If it cleans up good I will just use the white, but if it doesnt come good and clean (or draws up or comes apart or is otherwise renedered unusable) I will make a new cover.
Hopefully sometime around the first or second week of March I will know whether to make the new cover / accessories blue or pink!

Sssssssss .......
The dreaded "S" word .... will it or wont it? No matter, everyone gets in a tizzy at the mere mention of 'snow' down here in the deep south.
Last night the news kept wallowing back and forth, it will start at 8am, it will start at 10am, we'll get 1-2 inches, we'll get 1-3 inches ...... and the madness continues this morning. It's 11am and I've seen one flurry. It's dissapating on the radar. Gonna be gone before it gets here.
And IF it gets here, by the time it gets to my neck of the woods it's gonna be dang near time to go home anyway, so I'd just as soon it dry up and bring on the sunshine.
Counties who will barely get a dusting were on the news this morning with their EMA managers, LEO leaders saying they have their 'search and rescue' teams ready. What?
I'll keep you posted. I know you're all on pins and needles.
----- UPDATE ----
(11:45am)
Big wet sloppy flakes falling down. It remains to be seen how much we will actually get. I will say I am shocked our schools haven't announced closing yet!
---- UPDATE ----
(3:30pm)
About noon we had a few minutes of big flakes, and about 2:30pm another few minutes of the same.
It's wet and cold outside.
That's it.
The end.

Cozy Fingers ....
Just completed my first knitting project. (Yes, I made two of them, but do you know how hard it is to make a picture of both your hands at the same time!?)
A co-worker wants a pair too, so my second knitting project will be the same as my first. But I think it will go a bit faster this time, now that I know what I'm doing. I'll be adjusting the pattern a wee bit also as her hands are smaller than mine.
Now, if I could just convince my boss that I need to stay home from work and sit in my jammies and drink hot tea and knit all day (all on his dime of course!)
Yeah, I'm a dreamer.
I got the pattern HERE.
Linking up with Cowgirl Up today from Farmhouse Porch.

Christmas ... Before, During, After ...
Ok, so I haven't blogged in a while and now I have to play catch-up .... again .... ;-)
Friday night before Christmas I had the kiddos and the kiddos-in-law over for dinner. It was a time when everyone was off work, and had no other commitments. Simple fare ... chicken soup, corn on the cob, biscuits ... (we ate it so fast I didn't get pics of the food!)
I had ordered a runner and placemats in Sept when I ordered some gifts for friends. Then I promplty lost the runner/placemats. I did find them just in time for this dinner though (never mind where I found them, I just found them!)
And when I started setting the table I thought "gee, I wish I'd gotten a couple of cheap Christmas serving bowls from the Dollar Store or somewhere, just to spruce up the table. Then ... I remembered ... summer before last when Mom and I were at a yard sale I bought a set of Christmas dishes for $5! Fortunately I remembered where they were stashed (I'm not telling that either!) and I got them unboxed and washed them.

So, I ended up with a pretty festive table after all!
(The basket of poinsettias was my Nannie's)
Both of the kids brought their cameras with them, and yet we ended up with only two pictures!
Christmas Day was indeed all about The Gabster.
She will be 'on the move' once the weather clears.
Whether on four wheels ....
Or two ...........
This was my view of the Rose Parade ....
And a few extra gifts that arrived at my house from some of my out of town friends.
The red purse from "Ninda" (Linda)
And pj's from "Deh-duh" (Debra)
Debra also sent colors, color books, jewlery, and an Ariel doll.
Deb rocks!!
Our sweet girl was feeling a bit under the weather for several days arund the first of the new year, but she's back on track now and running wide open.
Stay tuned for more adventures!!
(And I'll try to update in a more timely manner!)
